Email verification for Zapier

Find the addresses that bounce before you send. Mailcut checks syntax, domain, mail server, disposable providers and the mailbox itself, without sending a message.

  • One HTTP request per address

Why verify in Zapier

Verify every new lead or form entry the moment it appears and pass only good addresses on to your CRM or email tool.

A Mailcut API key from your account and an automation that can send a web request with a header.

How every integration works

  1. Create a Zap with your trigger, for example a new form response or a new spreadsheet row.
  2. Add the action Webhooks by Zapier, event Custom Request. Method GET, URL https://mailcut.io/api/v1/verify?email= followed by the email field from your trigger. Webhooks needs a paid Zapier plan.
  3. Under Headers add Authorization with the value Bearer YOUR_API_KEY.
  4. Add Filter by Zapier: continue only if the result field exactly matches valid.
  5. Add your next action, for example Create Contact. Use Paths if you want risky and unknown results to go to a review sheet instead.

A tip: Zapier limits how long a step can wait. If a step times out, replay it; a slow mail server is the usual cause.

What the results mean

  • Valid: The mailbox exists. Send.
  • Invalid: The address cannot receive mail. Remove it.
  • Risky: Accepts mail but cannot be confirmed, for example a catch-all domain. Send in small batches and watch bounces.
  • Unknown: The server did not answer. Retry later.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to write code?

No. The request and the filter are fields in the Zapier editor.

What does a check cost?

One credit per verification, also when the result is unknown. A malformed address returns an error and is not charged.
